There's nothing better than a cozy girls' night: snacks, comfy blankets, maybe some face masks - and, of course, the perfect movie lineup. Whether you're in the mood to laugh, cry, or just enjoy a feel-good story, movies have a way of making a girl' night unforgettable. That's why I put together my top 10 movies for the ultimate girls' night in. From nostalgic classics to empowering modern hits, this list has a little something for everyone. So grab your popcorn, call your besties, and let's dive in!
The Princess Diaries (2001)
This is the ultimate comfort movie for a girls' night! The story follows Mia Thermopolis, a totally normal (and slightly awkward) teenager who suddenly discovers she's actually a princess. Between funny makeover moments, friendship drama, and Mia trying to figure out who she really is, this movie is pure fun and heart.
It's lighthearted, has lots of laughs, a bit of romance, and that classic makeover scene you can't help but love. Plus, Anne Hathaway as Mia is just iconic. It's the kind of movie where you can grab some popcorn, wear your coziest pajamas, and just feel good while watching.
To All the Boys I've Loved Before (2018)
This Netflix hit is perfect if you're in the mood for romance and a little bit of high school drama. The story follows Lara Jean Covey, a shy teenager whose secret love letters accidentally get sent to all of her crushes. Suddenly, her quiet life turns upside down as she deals with fake dating, unexpected feelings, and learning how to open her heart.
It's cute, funny, and has just the right amount of butterflies-in-your-stomach moments. Plus, Lara Jean's aesthetic is so cozy and dreamy - perfect inspiration for snacks, outfits, and girly vibes while watching with your friends.
10 Things I Hate About You (1999)
A true 90s classic! This movie is a modern retelling of Shakespeare's The Taming of the Shrew, but way more fun. It's about sisters Kat and Bianca, who couldn't be more different. When the rule in their house is that Bianca can't date until Kat does, things get complicated - especially when the charming (and mysterious) Patrick Verona enters the scene.
It's witty, romantic, and full of iconic scenes (yes, that singing scene with Heath Ledger). It's one of those movies that makes you laugh, swoon, and quote lines together with your friends.
Mean Girls (2004)
This one is a must! Cady Heron, who grew up in Africa, suddenly finds herself in anAmerican high school, where she meets "The Plastics" - the most popular girls in school. But things get messy when she tries to fit in and ends up caught in the middle of drama, lies, and backstabbing.
It's iconic, endlesslyy quotable ("On Wednesdays, we wear pink"), and hilarious. Watching it with your friends is basically a rite of passage.
Little Women (2019)
Based on Louisa May Alcott's classic novel, this movie follows the four March sisters - Jo, Meg, Beth and Amy - as they grow up, face challenges, and chase their dreams. Set in the 19th century but with timeless themes of love, independence, and family.
This is currently my absolute favorite movie and a big recommendation! It's heartwarming, beautifully filmed, and full of emotion. It's the kind of movie that makes you want to hug your friends and maybe shed a few tears together.
The Devil Wears Prada (2006)
Andrea Sachs, a young journalist, lands a job as the assistant to Miranda Priestly, the most powerful fashion magazine editor. At first, Andy struggles to keep up with the ruthless fashion world, but soon she starts changing - maybe too much.
Glamour, fashion, New York vibes - and Meryl Steep at her absolute best. It's funny, stylish, and makes you think about ambition, friendship, and staying true to yourself.
Bride Wars (2009)
Best friends Liv and Emma have always dreamed of the perfect wedding. But when a mix-up causes both of their weddings to be scheduled on the same day at the same venue, things quickly turn into war.
It's lighthearted, funny, and full of chaotic best-friend energy. Plus, it's Anne Hathaway and Kate Hudson being absolute icons together.
Barbie (2023)
This one is both fun and empowering. Barbie leaves Barbie Land to discover the real world, where she realizes that life is a lot more complicated than she thought. With humor, colorful sets, and important messages, it's a movie that balances pink glitter with deep meaning.
It's stylish, inspiring, and packed with laughs - and of course, perfect if everyone shows up in pink pajamas.
The Parent Trap (1998)
When Annie and Hallie, two identical girls who were separated at birth, meet at summer camp, they realize they're twins. They come up with a plan to switch places and reunite their parents.
Nostalgic, funny, and sweet - it's the kind of cozy movie you can watch with popcorn and feel-good vibes. Plus, Lindsey Lohan playing both twins is iconic.
Enola Holmes (2020)
Meet Enola, Sherlock Holmes' little sister - clever, bold, and full of surprises. When her mother goes missing, she sets off on her own adventure in Victorian London, solving mysteries and proving she's just as sharp as her famous brother.
It's adventurous, witty, and empowering. Perfect if you want something fun but also a little more action-packed.
At the end of the day, a girls' night isn't really about the movies - it's about the fun, the laughter, and the memories you make together. But the right film definitely makes the night extra special. I hope this list inspires your next movie marathon - so grab your besties, some popcorn, and let the girls' night begin!
XOXO,
Seraphine
